Overview
Product Description
G5 is the equivalent of T5 and L5 in constant-velocity form — same 30.2×80 mm cross kit, same 35 kW / 590 Nm at 540 rpm rating, but with the CV joint replacing the standard cardan joint at the tractor end. G5 is the most widely specified G Series model, covering the dominant 35–55 hp tractor class where front-mounted discbine and mower-conditioner applications are most prevalent.
The 30.2 mm cross-kit pin diameter family is the largest cross-kit group in agricultural PTO shafts — shared across G5, G6, G7, T5, T6, T7, L5, and L6. Workshop tooling for this pin diameter serves the entire family. G5 cross kits are identical to T5 and L5 (30.2×80 mm) — these cross kits are interchangeable across G5, T5, and L5, simplifying spare parts inventory for workshops servicing multiple series.
G5 is available from stock in standard lengths. For the complete G Series range and cross-compatibility with T Series and L Series at the same torque class, see the G Series category page. For OEM custom configurations, contact Ever-Power Drive Line.

Assembly Diagram — Component Reference
Component 1 is the CV wide angle joint — the key G Series differentiator from T/L/S Series
☈ Component 1: CV Wide Angle Joint
The CV (constant velocity) joint replaces the standard cross joint at the tractor end. It uses a ball-and-socket mechanism to deliver perfectly smooth, constant-velocity output at angles up to 80 degrees — eliminating the speed fluctuation that standard cardan joints produce above 6 degrees.

Key Features
80° Wide Angle CV Joint
The G Series CV joint allows operation at angles up to 80 degrees at the tractor end — more than three times the 25-degree limit of standard T, L, and S Series cardan joints. This enables G Series shafts in front-mounted implement drives, close-coupled mounts, and any application where the shaft angle regularly exceeds the standard cardan limit.
Constant Velocity Output
Standard cardan joints produce a sinusoidal speed variation at the output — the output shaft rotates faster then slower with each revolution, proportional to the operating angle. The G Series CV joint eliminates this variation, delivering perfectly constant-velocity output at any angle up to 80 degrees. This prevents vibration and eliminates implement gearbox acceleration fatigue.
Sealed Cross-Kit Bearings — IP67
Double-lip sealed needle-roller cross-kit bearing cups at the implement end, factory-filled with EP2 lithium complex grease. Grease nipple accessible with shield in place. Rated for 350+ hours between maintenance interventions under normal field conditions.
CE Safety Shield — Standard
CE-marked UV-stabilised HDPE bellows guard. CV joint end fitted with a flexible boot that accommodates the full 80-degree joint movement while protecting the CV joint grease cavity from contamination. OECD Code 4 compliant. Included as standard with every G Series unit.
Forged 20CrMnTi Steel Yokes
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yokes, normalised and induction-hardened at bearing seat journals. The high-angle CV joint body is machined from the same alloy to the same surface hardness specification.
CE + ISO Certification Package
CE Declaration of Conformity, ISO 9001:2015, TS/16949 process certificate, LGPD compliance documentation. SGS third-party batch inspection available on contract orders.
Typical Applications
G Series CV joint — 35–55 hp tractor class at operating angles up to 80°
Discbine Mower-Conditioners
G5 is the most commonly specified G Series model for pull-type and 3-point discbine mower-conditioners. The discbine hitch geometry requires the PTO shaft to operate at high angles during field turns, making G5 CV joint operation essential for vibration-free running.
Front-Mounted Round Balers
Front-mounted mini round baler configurations on 40–55 hp tractors require constant-velocity PTO drive at high operating angles. G5 delivers smooth baler chamber drive through the full range of tractor articulation during field operation.
High-Clearance Sprayer Drive
PTO-driven pump drives on high-clearance field sprayers where the pump mounting height and tractor-sprayer hitch geometry creates steep shaft angles. G5 CV joint eliminates vibration at angles that cause T5 shaft resonance.
Installation and Maintenance
Inspect the CV joint boot and anchor safety chains at both ends before first use
Confirm Torque Class
Calculate implement torque demand + 20% margin. Select the lowest G Series that meets the adjusted Nm figure.
Verify Operating Angle
Measure the maximum shaft angle at the tractor end at all implement positions. G Series handles up to 80° at the CV end; 25° at the implement cardan end.
Adjust Working Length
Verify 50 mm tube overlap at max implement height; 80 mm engagement at minimum. Tubes must not bottom out.
Inspect CV Joint Boot
Before first use, confirm the CV boot is correctly seated and both clamps are tight. A loose boot causes immediate CV joint contamination.
Anchor Safety Chains and Engage
Connect safety chains to non-rotating points. Engage PTO at low throttle first to verify smooth CV joint operation before running at full speed.
Frequently Asked Questions
- —Yes — G5 and T5 share the identical 30.2×80 mm cross kit (code 5.01)
- —The cross kit is interchangeable; the CV joint assembly at the tractor end is not
- —Order cross kits by code (5.01) — one part number covers G5, T5, and L5
- —Same torque ratings and cross-kit dimensions
- —G5: CV constant-velocity joint at tractor end — 80 degree max angle, no speed fluctuation
- —T5: Standard cardan joint — 25 degree max continuous angle, cyclic speed variation above 6 degrees
- —G5 costs more due to the CV joint assembly — use T5 where angle is within 25 degrees
- —Discbine mower-conditioners (front and rear mount) where hitch angle exceeds 25 degrees during turns
- —Front-mounted balers and mowers on compact tractors
- —Any implement where the implement manual or dealer specifies G Series or CV joint
- —Applications where T5 vibration has caused previous cross-kit or implement gearbox failures
- —After installation, operate the shaft through the full angle range at low PTO speed
- —Inspect the boot for bulging, twisting, or displacement from the clamp — any movement indicates incorrect fitting
- —A correctly fitted boot moves smoothly with the CV joint without wrinkling or stretching at maximum angle
- —Re-clamp if any movement is detected — a loose boot allows grease loss and contamination ingress
- —Yes — shear bolt torque limiters compatible with G5 splined yoke are available
- —Set the release torque below 960 Nm (G5 peak) to protect both shaft and implement gearbox
- —Fit the limiter at the implement end — not at the CV joint end
