Overview
Product Description
Series 6 Clamp Bolt Splined Yoke — 1-3/4″ 20-Spline (Z20) is the interfering clamp bolt version for 1,000 rpm PTO applications. The 1-3/4″ Z20 stub is physically larger than the Z6 stub (44.5 mm vs 34.9 mm outer diameter) — the size difference is visible without measuring, making incorrect fitment physically impossible.
The 30.2×92 mm cross-kit seat is identical to the Series 6 Z6 and Z21 clamp bolt variants — the cross kit is shared across all spline specifications at Series 6. At 1,000 rpm, the shaft Nm@1000 rating must be confirmed against the implement demand before selecting Series 6 — the rated torque at 1,000 rpm is lower than at 540 rpm for the same cross-kit class.
Series 6 Z20 clamp bolt is specified on large baler and forage harvester driveline assemblies running 1,000 rpm PTO where permanent seasonal connection is required. For Z20 clamp bolt OEM supply, contact Ever-Power Drive Line.
Clamp Bolt Locking Mechanism — Installation Procedure
The interfering clamp bolt bites into the spline bore wall when tightened, creating a mechanically locked connection independent of any spring element.
Clean and Align
Clean the spline bore and PTO stub. Align the yoke spline bore with the stub splines. Slide the yoke fully onto the stub until it is completely seated — no gap between yoke face and stub shoulder.
Insert and Hand-Tighten Bolt
Insert the clamp bolt through the yoke clamp collar. Hand-tighten until the bolt contacts the spline bore wall. Do not use impact tools at this stage — the bolt must be guided in straight.
Torque to Specification
Use a calibrated torque wrench. Tighten to 25–30 Nm for Series 1–5; 35–45 Nm for Series 6–8. Inspect and retorque at first 10 hours, then every 50 hours in high-vibration duty.
⚠ Clamp Bolt vs Quick Release — Choose the Right Locking Type
Clamp bolt: Use when the yoke remains connected for the season — OEM factory-fit, high-vibration implements, applications where removal requires tools by design. Quick release: Use when daily connect/disconnect is required. The cross-kit and dimensional specifications are identical between both variants at Series 6.
Dimensional Drawing — A / B / C / D Reference
A = Overall length | B = Cross pin diameter | C = Yoke width | D = Bore diameter. Refer to the compatibility table above for exact mm values.

Key Features
Interfering Clamp Bolt Lock
The bolt threads into the yoke clamp collar and bites into the spline bore wall when tightened, creating a mechanically interlocked connection. Unlike a spring-loaded push-pin, the clamp bolt connection does not depend on any spring element — there is no spring to fatigue, no collar to wear, and no retention pin to lose in field conditions.
High Vibration Resistance
The bolt-secured connection maintains its clamping force under sustained vibration loads that cycle a push-pin spring mechanism. Specified for rotary cutters, forage harvesters, and high-duty-cycle implements where vibration fatigue is a concern over 300+ hour operating seasons. Retorque inspection at 50-hour intervals ensures sustained clamping force.
1-3/4″ Z20 Spline Bore
Standard 1,000 rpm high-speed PTO interface — fits all Z20 stubs. Induction-hardened spline bore for long-term engagement durability.
30.2×92 mm Cross-Kit Seat
Precision-machined cross-kit bearing cup bores hardened to accept 30 mm pin diameter needle-roller cross-kit cups. Cross kit (code 6.01) is shared with the Quick Release version at Series 6 — one part number covers both variants.
20CrMnTi Forged Steel Body
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yoke body, normalised and induction-hardened at the bearing seat bores. Phosphate surface coating provides corrosion resistance in outdoor agricultural conditions. Clamp bolt collar is machined integral with the yoke body — no separate clamp ring to lose or misalign.
CE Certified — LGPD Ready
CE Declaration of Conformity and ISO 9001:2015 documentation included with every shipment. LGPD data handling compliance for Brazil import submissions. SGS third-party inspection available for contract orders.
Typical Applications
Series 6 CB Z20 — permanent-mount tractor-end connection for 45–70 hp implements
Large Round Baler — OEM Driveline
Series 6 clamp bolt is the European OEM standard tractor-end yoke on large round balers. Factory-fitted and specified as AB6/A6 in Italian catalog, it provides permanent connection through the full baling season.
Disc Mower-Conditioner — Implement End
Implement-end clamp bolt yoke on mower-conditioner drivelines where the shaft remains connected for extended working periods in 50–70 hp tractor applications.
High-Capacity Spreader — Continuous
Series 6 clamp bolt on twin-disc fertiliser spreader drives running continuous seasonal campaigns where push-pin spring fatigue is a maintenance concern.
Installation Steps
Verify Series and Spline
Confirm your PTO shaft is Series 6 (30.2×92 mm cross kit) and your tractor PTO stub is Z20 (1-3/4″ 20-spline). Count the splines to confirm.
Clean Stub and Bore
Remove all rust, debris, and old lubricant from both the PTO stub and the yoke spline bore. Clean mating surfaces ensure maximum contact area and correct bolt seating.
Slide and Seat Yoke
Align splines and push the yoke fully onto the stub until the yoke face contacts the stub shoulder. Full seating is essential before bolt tightening — a partially seated yoke will not lock correctly.
Torque the Clamp Bolt
Insert the clamp bolt and tighten with a calibrated torque wrench to 25–30 Nm (Series 1–5) or 35–45 Nm (Series 6–8). Do not use impact tools. Verify bolt is fully threaded before torquing.
Anchor Shield and Inspect
Connect the shaft safety shield chains to non-rotating points on tractor and implement. Inspect the bolt after the first 10 hours of operation and retorque to specification. Reinspect every 50 hours in high-vibration duty.
Frequently Asked Questions
- —Count 20 splines on the PTO stub — the definitive identification method
- —Z20 outer diameter is 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) — noticeably larger than Z6 (34.9 mm)
- —Z20 stubs are on all tractors with 1,000 rpm PTO output
- —Yes — 30.2×92 mm cross kit (code 6.01) is shared across Z6, Z21, and Z20 at this series
- —One part number covers all three spline variants
- —Only the yoke body differs between spline specifications
- —Use clamp bolt for OEM 1,000 rpm driveline assemblies connected for the full season
- —Use quick release for 1,000 rpm applications requiring daily connect/disconnect
- —Clamp bolt is more common at Z20 because large baler and harvester drivelines are typically seasonal mounts
- —Always use the Nm@1000 column from the T Series torque table when selecting for 1,000 rpm
- —The Nm@1000 rating is always lower than Nm@540 for the same cross-kit series
- —Confirm your implement demand does not exceed the Series 6 Nm@1000 value
- —Same torque specification as Z6 at Series 6: 25–30 Nm (S1–5) or 35–45 Nm (S6–8)
- —Inspect and retorque at 50-hour intervals
- —The larger Z20 bore does not change the bolt torque requirement
