Overview
Product Description
G2 is the entry model of the Ever-Power Drive Line G Series — a wide-angle CV joint cardan shaft for the 16–25 hp compact tractor market. The CV (constant velocity) joint at the tractor end allows the shaft to operate at angles up to 80 degrees while delivering perfectly smooth, constant-velocity power output. A standard T2 or L2 cardan shaft with the same 23.8×61.3 mm cross kit produces measurable speed fluctuation at angles above 6 degrees and vibration above 25 degrees. G2 eliminates both effects across the full 80-degree operating range.
The G2 is the correct replacement for a T2 or L2 shaft on any implement application where operating angle regularly exceeds 25 degrees. Common situations include front-mounted implements on compact tractors, implement mounts that sit very close to the tractor rear axle, and vineyard or orchard operations where frequent tight turns put the shaft at high angles. If the implement manual or dealer parts list specifies a G Series shaft, the CV joint is not an option — it is a design requirement.
G2 is available in standard stock lengths with Z6 (540 rpm) and Z20 (1,000 rpm) spline options. For OEM supply on compact tractor implement lines — specifying G2 as the standard shaft for a product range — contact Ever-Power Drive Line for volume pricing and custom length options.

Assembly Diagram — Component Reference
Component 1 is the CV wide angle joint — the key G Series differentiator from T/L/S Series
☈ Component 1: CV Wide Angle Joint
The CV (constant velocity) joint replaces the standard cross joint at the tractor end. It uses a ball-and-socket mechanism to deliver perfectly smooth, constant-velocity output at angles up to 80 degrees — eliminating the speed fluctuation that standard cardan joints produce above 6 degrees.

Key Features
80° Wide Angle CV Joint
The G Series CV joint allows operation at angles up to 80 degrees at the tractor end — more than three times the 25-degree limit of standard T, L, and S Series cardan joints. This enables G Series shafts in front-mounted implement drives, close-coupled mounts, and any application where the shaft angle regularly exceeds the standard cardan limit.
Constant Velocity Output
Standard cardan joints produce a sinusoidal speed variation at the output — the output shaft rotates faster then slower with each revolution, proportional to the operating angle. The G Series CV joint eliminates this variation, delivering perfectly constant-velocity output at any angle up to 80 degrees. This prevents vibration and eliminates implement gearbox acceleration fatigue.
Sealed Cross-Kit Bearings — IP67
Double-lip sealed needle-roller cross-kit bearing cups at the implement end, factory-filled with EP2 lithium complex grease. Grease nipple accessible with shield in place. Rated for 350+ hours between maintenance interventions under normal field conditions.
CE Safety Shield — Standard
CE-marked UV-stabilised HDPE bellows guard. CV joint end fitted with a flexible boot that accommodates the full 80-degree joint movement while protecting the CV joint grease cavity from contamination. OECD Code 4 compliant. Included as standard with every G Series unit.
Forged 20CrMnTi Steel Yokes
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yokes, normalised and induction-hardened at bearing seat journals. The high-angle CV joint body is machined from the same alloy to the same surface hardness specification.
CE + ISO Certification Package
CE Declaration of Conformity, ISO 9001:2015, TS/16949 process certificate, LGPD compliance documentation. SGS third-party batch inspection available on contract orders.
Typical Applications
G Series CV joint — 16–25 hp tractor class at operating angles up to 80°
Compact Front-Mounted Mowers
G2 is the standard choice for front-mounted rotary mowers on compact tractors where the PTO shaft must operate at angles that standard cardan joints cannot accommodate. The 80-degree CV joint allows the front mower to remain running through the full range of tractor articulation.
Vineyard and Orchard Tillers
Compact tillers on 16–25 hp tractors in narrow-row vineyard and orchard settings where tight headland turns require large PTO operating angles. G2 CV joint eliminates the vibration that a standard cardan joint produces above 25 degrees.
Walk-Behind and Compact Implement Drive
Self-propelled and walk-behind implement drive applications where the angle between the power unit and the implement changes continuously during operation — applications where T2 or L2 standard cardan shafts produce unacceptable vibration.
Installation and Maintenance
Inspect the CV joint boot and anchor safety chains at both ends before first use
Confirm Torque Class
Calculate implement torque demand + 20% margin. Select the lowest G Series that meets the adjusted Nm figure.
Verify Operating Angle
Measure the maximum shaft angle at the tractor end at all implement positions. G Series handles up to 80° at the CV end; 25° at the implement cardan end.
Adjust Working Length
Verify 50 mm tube overlap at max implement height; 80 mm engagement at minimum. Tubes must not bottom out.
Inspect CV Joint Boot
Before first use, confirm the CV boot is correctly seated and both clamps are tight. A loose boot causes immediate CV joint contamination.
Anchor Safety Chains and Engage
Connect safety chains to non-rotating points. Engage PTO at low throttle first to verify smooth CV joint operation before running at full speed.
Frequently Asked Questions
- —G2 and T2 use the same 23.8×61.3 mm cross-kit dimensions and the same torque ratings
- —G2 has a CV (constant velocity) joint at the tractor end; T2 uses a standard cardan (cross) joint
- —G2 operates smoothly at angles up to 80 degrees; T2 is limited to 25 degrees continuous
- —Use G2 when the implement regularly operates above 25 degrees relative to the tractor; use T2 for standard rear-mounted implement drive within normal angle range
- —A CV (constant velocity) joint maintains the same output shaft speed as the input shaft regardless of the angle between them
- —A standard cardan joint produces a sinusoidal speed variation at the output — faster then slower with each revolution — proportional to the operating angle
- —The CV joint uses a ball-and-socket mechanism with internal ball bearings to cancel this variation, producing smooth constant-velocity output at any angle up to 80 degrees
- —This eliminates the vibration that standard cardan joints produce at high angles
- —G2 CV joint maximum operating angle: 80 degrees at the CV end
- —The implement end retains a standard cardan joint (25 degrees maximum continuous)
- —Ensure the implement-end joint does not exceed 25 degrees even if the CV end is operating at a high angle
- —For double-CV configurations where both ends require high-angle operation, contact Ever-Power Drive Line
- —Yes — G2 uses the same spline profiles (Z6 or Z20) and is available in the same length range as T2
- —G2 is a direct physical replacement for T2 with the added benefit of CV joint constant-velocity output
- —The CE safety shield diameter may differ slightly — verify shield compatibility when fitting G2 in place of T2
- —Standard interval: every 8 operating hours with EP2 lithium complex NLGI 2 grease
- —The CV joint has its own grease cavity sealed by a rubber boot — inspect the boot at each seasonal service
- —A torn or displaced CV joint boot must be replaced immediately — dry CV joint operation causes rapid failure
- —Apply 2–3 pump strokes at the cross-kit nipple; the CV joint is pre-packed and sealed at the factory
