Product Description

S8 marks the step to the 35 mm cross-kit pin diameter — a significant increase from the 30.2 mm family of S6 and S7. The 35×94 mm cross kit delivers 1,050 Nm at 540 rpm and 1,900 Nm peak. Workshop tooling, pressing fixtures, and snap-ring pliers must be sized for the 35 mm pin — the 30.2 mm tooling used for S6 and S7 is not compatible. This tooling requirement is the practical reason for stocking S8 cross kits separately from the lower series.

S8 and S38 share the same 35×94 mm cross kit and identical torque ratings. The difference between them lies in the tube outer diameter: S38 uses a narrower star tube profile for specific implement input housings that cannot accommodate the standard S8 star tube OD. If the implement manual specifies S38, do not substitute S8 — the tube interference at the housing will prevent correct installation.

S8 is the standard S Series recommendation for forage harvester drive applications in the 65–90 hp class.
