Overview
Product Description
Series 6 Z20 is the 1,000 rpm tractor-end yoke for 45–70 hp tractors driving large balers, mower-conditioners, and generators at 1,000 rpm PTO speed. The 1-3/4″ 20-spline bore fits the Z20 stub found on all tractors with 1,000 rpm PTO output. The cross-kit seat (30.2×92 mm) is identical to Series 6 Z6 — the only difference is the spline bore diameter and count.
Identifying a Z20 stub is simple: count 20 splines on the tractor PTO stub, or measure the major diameter at 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm). The Z20 is physically larger than the Z6 stub — the size difference is visible without measuring. A Z20 yoke cannot engage a Z6 stub and vice versa, making incorrect fitment physically impossible.
For the complete 1,000 rpm PTO shaft and yoke combination, see the T Series torque table using the Nm@1000 column to select the correct shaft series, then order the matching Series 6 Z20 yoke as the tractor-end component. Contact Ever-Power Drive Line for combined shaft and yoke ordering.
Quick Release Mechanism — How It Works
The push-pin spring-loads into the PTO stub engagement groove. Press the collar to release.
Push Collar Forward
Press the spring-loaded collar toward the yoke body. This retracts the push-pin from its engagement position, freeing the bore to slide onto the PTO stub.
Slide Yoke Onto Stub
With collar held forward, push the splined bore fully onto the PTO stub until the yoke is fully seated. The splines must be fully engaged before releasing the collar.
Release — Click Confirms Lock
Release the collar. The spring drives the push-pin into the stub engagement groove. An audible click and positive resistance to withdrawal confirms correct locking.
Dimensional Drawing — A / B / C / D Reference
A = Overall length | B = Cross pin diameter | C = Yoke width | D = Bore diameter. Refer to the compatibility table above for exact mm values.

Key Features
Push-Pin Quick Release
Spring-loaded push-pin mechanism allows tool-free connection and disconnection from the PTO stub. Press the collar to retract the pin; release to engage. An audible click confirms positive locking. One-handed operation in field conditions.
1-3/4″ Z20 Spline Bore
Standard 1,000 rpm high-speed PTO interface — fits all Z20 stubs. The bore is induction-hardened for resistance to spline wear during frequent engagement and release cycles.
30.2×92 mm Cross-Kit Seat
Precision-machined cross-kit bearing cup bores hardened to accept 30 mm pin diameter needle-roller cross-kit cups. Compatible with Series 6 cross kits used across T6 / L6 / S6 / G6 drive shaft assemblies.
20CrMnTi Forged Steel Body
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yoke body, normalised and induction-hardened at the bearing seat bores. Phosphate surface coating provides corrosion resistance in outdoor agricultural conditions. Designed for long-term field service life.
Retention Spring and Collar
Heavy-duty retention spring loaded in the push-pin bore maintains positive engagement under PTO operating vibration. The collar provides a reliable surface for one-handed release in field gloves. Spring tension is calibrated for the series torque class.
CE Certified — LGPD Ready
CE Declaration of Conformity and ISO 9001:2015 documentation included with every shipment. LGPD data handling compliance for Brazil import submissions. SGS third-party inspection available for contract orders.
Typical Applications
Series 6 Z20 yoke — tractor-end connection for 45–70 hp implements
Large Balers — 45–70 hp
Series 6 Z6 is the tractor-end yoke specification for large round balers on 50–70 hp tractors. The 30.2×92 mm cross-kit seat handles the sustained baling load and peak bale-eject torque at this tractor class.
Disc Mower-Conditioners
Mower-conditioner tractor-end connection on 50–70 hp tractors. Series 6 Z6 maintains positive spline engagement through the higher torque demands of mower-conditioner flywheel and conditioning roller drives.
High-Capacity Spreaders
Large twin-disc fertiliser spreaders on 50–65 hp tractors requiring sustained Series 6 torque class at 540 or 1,000 rpm. Quick release allows fast transition between spreading and other PTO implements during application campaigns.
Installation Procedure
Verify Series and Spline
Confirm your PTO shaft is Series 6 (30.2×92 mm cross kit) and your tractor PTO stub is Z20 (1-3/4″ 20-spline). Count the splines if in doubt.
Clean the Stub
Remove any rust, debris, or old lubricant from the tractor PTO stub and the yoke spline bore before installation. A clean, dry spline surface ensures maximum contact area and positive push-pin engagement.
Press Collar and Engage
Press the collar toward the yoke body to retract the push-pin. Align the yoke spline bore with the stub splines and push firmly until the yoke is fully seated on the stub.
Release and Verify Click
Release the collar. You should hear and feel the push-pin snap into the stub engagement groove. Tug the yoke firmly — it must not slide back without pressing the collar.
Anchor Safety Chain
After the shaft is fully connected (both ends), anchor the safety shield chains to fixed, non-rotating points on the tractor and implement. Never operate without safety chains secured.
Frequently Asked Questions
- —Count 20 splines on the tractor PTO stub — the definitive identification method
- —Measure the major stub diameter: 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) = Z20; 1-3/8″ (34.9 mm) = Z6 or Z21
- —Z20 stubs are physically larger than Z6 — the size difference is visible without measuring
- —The yoke itself does not have a torque rating — the rating comes from the cross-kit seat and the connected shaft
- —At Series 6, the connected shaft Nm@1000 rating is lower than Nm@540 — use the Nm@1000 column
- —The cross-kit dimensions are identical between Z6 and Z20 at the same series
- —Yes — the Z20 bore at the tractor end is independent of the shaft tube profile at the implement end
- —The tractor-end yoke must match the tractor PTO stub; the implement-end yoke must match the implement input
- —Both ends can have different spline profiles — specify each end separately when ordering a complete shaft
- —No — the cross kit at Series 6 is the same 30.2×92 mm regardless of PTO speed
- —The speed rating difference is in the shaft assembly and implement specification, not in the cross-kit dimensions
- —One cross-kit part number covers both Z6 and Z20 at the same series
- —Yes — the 1,000E (economy) PTO delivers 1,000 rpm at reduced engine speed and uses the same Z20 stub
- —The Series Z20 yoke is correct for both standard 1,000 rpm and 1,000E economy PTO tractors
- —No different yoke is needed for economy PTO — the stub interface is identical
