Product Description
S7 steps from the S6 cross kit (30.2×92 mm) to the extended journal S7 cross kit (30.2×106.5 mm). The 14.5 mm journal extension increases the needle roller bearing load distribution area and raises continuous torque from 830 Nm to 970 Nm at 540 rpm. The star tube outer diameter is unchanged — S7 fits all implement housings specified for the S6 star bore profile, and accepts the same yoke types and spline configurations.
The 30.2 mm pin diameter is shared across S6, S7, L5, L6, T5, T6, and T7 — the most widely stocked cross-kit bearing family in the agricultural driveline market. Workshop tooling for 30.2 mm cross-kit removal and installation applies universally to all of these series. However, journal length must be matched to series: the 106.5 mm journal of S7 is different from the 92 mm of S6 and L6, and cross-kit substitution between these is not correct.

Star Tube Profile — Six-Lobe Bore
The star (six-lobe) tube cross-section provides the highest torsional rigidity per unit outer diameter of any standard agricultural PTO tube profile. Specified by European implement OEMs for input housings machined to star bore dimensions — incompatible with triangular or lemon tube profiles.
Sealed Cross-Kit Bearings — IP67
Double-lip sealed needle-roller bearing cups, factory-filled with EP2 lithium complex grease. Grease nipple accessible with shield in place. Rated for 350+ hours between maintenance interventions in standard field conditions.
CE Safety Shield — Standard
CE-marked UV-stabilised HDPE bellows guard matched to S Series tube outer diameter. Spring-clip anchors and chain points at both ends. OECD Code 4 compliant. Included as standard with every S Series unit.
Forged 20CrMnTi Steel Yokes
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yokes, normalised and induction-hardened at bearing seat journals. Designed for sustained peak torque applications in large baler and forage harvester duty cycles.
All Spline Standards Available
1-3/8 inch Z6 (540 rpm), 1-3/4 inch Z20 (1,000 rpm), and 1-3/8 inch Z21 push-pin or bolt-clamp yokes. Both ends specified independently at order.

S Series star tube — 55–80 hp tractor class applications
High-Output Round Balers — 60–80 hp
S7 handles the 1,800 Nm peak eject torque of large round balers on 65–80 hp tractors. The extended 106.5 mm journal increases load distribution over S6 without changing the tube outer diameter.
Large Rotary Mowers — 60–75 hp
High-blade-count rotary mowers where the implement OEM specifies the extended-journal S7 for improved bearing life under sustained mowing duty cycles at 540 rpm.
Forage Wagon Main Drive
Pick-up reel and auger drive on large forage wagons requiring sustained 700–970 Nm. S7 covers full-load forage wagon operation in dense legume crops on 70–80 hp tractors.
Installation and Maintenance
Attach safety chain to a fixed non-rotating point on both tractor and implement
Confirm Torque Class
Calculate implement demand (Nm). Add 20% safety margin. Select the lowest S Series where Nm@540 (or Nm@1000) exceeds the adjusted figure.
Adjust Working Length
Measure coupling centre distance with implement attached. Verify 50 mm min tube overlap at full extension, 80 mm at full compression.
Engage Yoke Connections
Push-pin yoke: engage at PTO stub and confirm audible click and positive retention. Clamp yoke: torque to manufacturer specification.
Anchor Safety Chains
Connect tractor-side chain to guard or frame; implement-side chain to implement body. Verify taut at working height.
Grease Before First Use
Apply EP2 lithium complex NLGI 2 grease (2–3 pumps) to both cross-kit nipples. Service every 8 hours; 4 hours in wet or abrasive conditions.
