Overview
Product Description
G6 steps up from G5 with the extended 30.2×92 mm cross kit — delivering 830 Nm at 540 rpm in constant-velocity form. This is the wide-angle CV equivalent of T6, L6, and S6 — same cross-kit pin diameter (30.2 mm), same torque class, but with the CV joint at the tractor end providing smooth constant-velocity output at angles up to 80 degrees rather than the 25-degree limit of standard cardan joints.
At this torque class, G6 is the standard recommendation for discbine mower-conditioners in the 55–70 hp class where implement OEMs specify CV joint PTO drive. Several European discbine manufacturers include G6 as the specified original shaft on their 55–70 hp models — if the implement parts book references G6 or a CV joint wide-angle shaft at this torque class, G6 is the correct replacement.
G6 shares the 30.2 mm cross-kit tooling family with G5, G7, T5, T6, T7, L5, and L6. One set of 30.2 mm pressing tools covers all of these series. For the complete series comparison and availability, see the G Series category page.

Assembly Diagram — Component Reference
Component 1 is the CV wide angle joint — the key G Series differentiator from T/L/S Series
☈ Component 1: CV Wide Angle Joint
The CV (constant velocity) joint replaces the standard cross joint at the tractor end. It uses a ball-and-socket mechanism to deliver perfectly smooth, constant-velocity output at angles up to 80 degrees — eliminating the speed fluctuation that standard cardan joints produce above 6 degrees.

Key Features
80° Wide Angle CV Joint
The G Series CV joint allows operation at angles up to 80 degrees at the tractor end — more than three times the 25-degree limit of standard T, L, and S Series cardan joints. This enables G Series shafts in front-mounted implement drives, close-coupled mounts, and any application where the shaft angle regularly exceeds the standard cardan limit.
Constant Velocity Output
Standard cardan joints produce a sinusoidal speed variation at the output — the output shaft rotates faster then slower with each revolution, proportional to the operating angle. The G Series CV joint eliminates this variation, delivering perfectly constant-velocity output at any angle up to 80 degrees. This prevents vibration and eliminates implement gearbox acceleration fatigue.
Sealed Cross-Kit Bearings — IP67
Double-lip sealed needle-roller cross-kit bearing cups at the implement end, factory-filled with EP2 lithium complex grease. Grease nipple accessible with shield in place. Rated for 350+ hours between maintenance interventions under normal field conditions.
CE Safety Shield — Standard
CE-marked UV-stabilised HDPE bellows guard. CV joint end fitted with a flexible boot that accommodates the full 80-degree joint movement while protecting the CV joint grease cavity from contamination. OECD Code 4 compliant. Included as standard with every G Series unit.
Forged 20CrMnTi Steel Yokes
Drop-forged chromium-manganese-titanium alloy steel yokes, normalised and induction-hardened at bearing seat journals. The high-angle CV joint body is machined from the same alloy to the same surface hardness specification.
CE + ISO Certification Package
CE Declaration of Conformity, ISO 9001:2015, TS/16949 process certificate, LGPD compliance documentation. SGS third-party batch inspection available on contract orders.
Typical Applications
G Series CV joint — 45–70 hp tractor class at operating angles up to 80°
Large Discbine Mower-Conditioners — 50–70 hp
High-output discbine mower-conditioners on 55–70 hp tractors where the implement is run through full-field turns without PTO disengagement. G6 CV joint eliminates vibration at angles that cause T6 or S6 cardan shaft issues.
Front-Mounted Disc Mowers
Large front-mounted disc mowers on 50–70 hp tractors requiring constant-velocity PTO drive at angles up to 80 degrees during manoeuvring.
Wide-Angle Slurry Pump Drive
PTO-driven slurry pump and separator drives where the pump position relative to the tractor creates sustained high-angle PTO shaft operation. G6 continuous-duty CV performance at 830 Nm with no angle-induced vibration.
Installation and Maintenance
Inspect the CV joint boot and anchor safety chains at both ends before first use
Confirm Torque Class
Calculate implement torque demand + 20% margin. Select the lowest G Series that meets the adjusted Nm figure.
Verify Operating Angle
Measure the maximum shaft angle at the tractor end at all implement positions. G Series handles up to 80° at the CV end; 25° at the implement cardan end.
Adjust Working Length
Verify 50 mm tube overlap at max implement height; 80 mm engagement at minimum. Tubes must not bottom out.
Inspect CV Joint Boot
Before first use, confirm the CV boot is correctly seated and both clamps are tight. A loose boot causes immediate CV joint contamination.
Anchor Safety Chains and Engage
Connect safety chains to non-rotating points. Engage PTO at low throttle first to verify smooth CV joint operation before running at full speed.
Frequently Asked Questions
- —S6 uses a standard cardan joint (star tube, 25 degree max angle) — G6 uses a CV joint (80 degree max angle)
- —Both share the same torque class (830 Nm at 540 rpm) and the same 30.2×92 mm cross-kit dimensions
- —Use S6 for star-bore implement housings within normal angle range; use G6 for high-angle applications
- —Yes — G6 is rated at 710 Nm at 1,000 rpm
- —CV joint constant-velocity output is maintained at 1,000 rpm up to 80 degrees
- —Specify Z20 spline for 1,000 rpm; standard stock is Z6 (540 rpm)
- —The CV joint has its own grease boot — inspect the boot at every seasonal service
- —A torn boot must be replaced immediately; the cross kit at the implement end is greased on the standard 8-hour interval
- —CV joint pre-packed grease does not require periodic regreasing unless the boot is replaced
- —Disassemble the CV joint assembly per the G Series installation guide
- —Clean all old grease from the joint cavity and ball tracks
- —Pack the new boot with the specified CV joint grease (included with replacement boot kit)
- —Refit and secure both boot clamps — verify correct positioning through the full angle range
- —Yes — G6 sealed IP67 cross kits are suitable for continuous-duty pump applications
- —Use the 4-hour greasing interval for the cross kit at the implement end in continuous-duty pump applications
- —The CV joint grease boot protects the CV cavity independently — no additional maintenance required at the CV end
